‘Obama administration aiding illegal aliens’
AMERICAN SENIORS ASSOCIATION HITS NEW POLICY
ATLANTA— “President Barack Obama didn’t tell the truth in his September 2009 speech when claiming his healthcare bill ‘would not apply to those here illegally.’ His own Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has exposed that as a lie,” says Phil Kent, CEO of the American Seniors Association (ASA) representing millions of members nationwide.
“HHS announced it has awarded $28.8 million to 67 community health centers with funds from the Obamacare health law. Of that $28.8 million, HHS says approximately $8.5 million will be used by 25 New Access Point awardees to target services to migrant and seasonal farm workers. However, an HHS spokeswoman admitted that grant recipients will not check the immigration status of people seeking services,” Kent notes.
The fact that HHS openly says the grant recipients are required to serve ‘all residents’ who walk through their doors regardless of legal status contradicts the president’s 2009 speech when U.S. Rep. Joe Wilson, R-S.C., shouted from the House floor “You lie!” The congressman was widely castigated for his frustrated outburst. However, this reveals that Congressman Wilson has been vindicated,” Kent said.
“This development again underscores the many negative ramifications of expensive and tyrannical Obamacare. The American Seniors Association—unlike its left-wing AARP counterpart—will continue to speak out against the further use of taxpayer monies to serve illegal immigrants at the expense of seniors and, indeed, all Americans,” Kent says.
