‘Every American ought to get a waiver’

AMERICAN SENIORS ASSN. BLASTS AARP WAIVER

      ATLANTA—  “It is outrageous that the AARP, formerly the American Association of Retired Persons, has been granted a waiver by the Obama administration because it is the nation’s largest Medigap provider and a vocal cheerleader of the expensive and oppressive Obamacare law,” says Phil Kent, CEO of the American Seniors Association (ASA) representing millions of members nationwide.

      “The left-wing AARP sold out to the White House and congressional Democrat leaders so it could sell insurance and reap profits under Obamcare. Now the Obama administration says Medigap providers shall be exempt from the oversight policies imposed on all other insurance companies. And, of course, the largest provider of Medigap policies is the AARP,” Kent notes. “Medigap plans are insurance supplements which take care of expenses that Medicare doesn’t cover— and, by the way, the providers of these plans have been raising their rates. So now a special friend— the AARP-- gets a waiver.”

        “If Obamacare – with its heavy hand of government control and healthcare rationing-- is so good for everyone as President Barack Obama claims, why are his political allies like the AARP and big union bosses, as well as constituents in key Democrat congressional districts, getting waivers from the law? This law is so bad, every man, woman and child in America ought to be granted a waiver,” Kent says.

     “It remains gratifying that the AARP continues to lose members because of its support of Obamacare, higher taxes and big government-- and that is why ASA is getting torn-up AARP cards in our mail and why our alternative group’s membership is rapidly growing every day,” Kent notes.
