ASA PRESIDENT STUART BARTON VISITS WASHINGTON, D.C.

January 13, 2010 – Stuart Barton, president of the American Seniors Association, (ASA) today joined conservative advocates from across the nation at the weekly Weyrich Conservative Luncheon, held in Washington, D.C. As part of his two-day visit to the Capital, Mr. Barton will meet with key legislators and their assistants to discuss issues that face America’s aging population.

“While in Washington, I intend to advocate on behalf of seniors nationwide, ensuring that our elected officials are held accountable to the people who elected them,” said Mr. Barton. “Now more than ever, we need to stand together as a community to see the changes that we want in Washington.”

In an interview with John Gizzi, political editor of Human Events, Mr. Barton will highlight the ASA as a viable alternative to the AARP while also encouraging seniors to become actively involved in government.

As part of the ASA’s ongoing efforts to fight for seniors on the issues and concerns that matter most, president Barton will visit the Heritage Foundation – an organization dedicated to paving the way for public policy research and analysis. During his visit, president Barton will share his ideas and vision on how to better serve America’s aging constituents.

Remember, your voice counts. To contact your elected officials, please visit our web site at http://www.americanseniors.org/index.php/resources.

*The following release was issued by the American Seniors Association. For additional questions and concerns, please contact us at 3700 Mansell Road, Suite 220, Alpharetta, GA 30022.
